Print On Demand

I am contemplating another P.O.D. venture. (That is, “print on demand”–the

modern form of vanity publishing.) I did one before via the P.O.D. firm

Xlibris http://www.olimu.com/FireFromSun/FireFromSun.htm . It wasn’t a

sensationally bad experience, but I think I’d like to try a different P.O.D.

firm this time. Any readers who have had HAPPY expeiences with a P.O.D.

firm, please email & tell me about it (olimu@optonline.net). If you don’t

mind, I’d like to know how much the venture cost you. My idea is to do a

collection of my pieces. Of the hundreds of essays, reviews & fragments of

fugitive journalism I’ve done these past few years, there’s a handful I’d

like to gather together & preserve in some format more durable than pixels.

When I mentioned this to a publisher the other day, he ran for the elevator.

Publishers hate that kind of thing–no market for it. Fine, but I’d like to

do it anyway. All suggestions gratefully received.

Barr-room Brawl

I’ll confess that I did not watch the entire Judiciary Committee hearing with Bill Barr; I’m grateful that Andy and Rich did the work for me. But I have seen enough of it to fully agree with their sentiments. It was a circus, full of gross process fouls, and everyone who is familiar at all with Congress knows ... Read More

Our Summer of Cultural Suicide

Cultural suicide used to be a popular diagnosis of why things suddenly just quit. Historians such as Oswald Spengler and Arnold Toynbee cited social cannibalism to explain why once-successful states, institutions, and cultures simply died off. Their common explanation was that the arrogance of success ... Read More

Waiting for the Counterrevolution

We are in the midst of a revolution, a cultural and racial one, that seeks to refute the past, damn the present, and hijack the future. So far, however, we have only heard from one side, the revolutionaries and their enablers themselves. Those trying to reject and then reboot America are small as a percentage ... Read More
