Pro-Gaza Protesters Attack Israeli Soccer Team

Adding to Europe’s recent spate of anti-Semitic violence, pro-Palestinian agitators attacked the Israeli club team Maccabi Haifa — during its Wednesday-night exhibition match in Austria against French team Lille OSC. About 20 people rushed onto the field with five minutes of play remaining in regular time. Waving Palestinian and Turkish flags, they shouted profanities at and physically assaulted members of the Israeli team.

Police were able to gain control of the situation, and while no one was injured, the game was immediately ended.
