I’d like to disagree with the reader that claims that men don’t want women
to participate in sports to “cast off the domestic shackles for a short
time.” The reason that men don’t want to play sports with women is that
they’re not that good. That is why Annika’s “playing with the boys” is such
a media hit, and why movies and television shows alike will always find it
ironic to have the girl beat the boy.
