Protesting Federal Workers’ Signs after Shooting: Hatred No, Civility Yes!

A small group of furloughed federal employees just made signs in response to the shots fired at the Capitol, calling for civil discourse and an end to violence. Shira Frank, whose spouse is a furloughed federal employee, told me she and a few friends were having a car wash at the corner of 4th and Pennsylvania SE to raise money for workers who aren’t getting paychecks when the shots rang out. Frank tells me she and her spouse are in the adoption process, which has become much more challenging without paychecks. They made the signs in the first picture after the gunfire. Here they are:
