Quantum Politics

Jim, I, too, suspect that Joe Biden would have a hard time explaining quantum computing. I sort of doubt the president could explain the rules of checkers.

But I am glad to see the federal government supporting scientific research of that kind. It is an excellent use of government resources, and if Republicans were smart, they’d take up the issue — it is good policy and good politics both, a rare twofer. The number of government dollars I would redirect from employee benefits and pensions to quantum-computing research would not require a quantum computer to calculate, but it is a whole bunch.
