Rand Paul Discusses His Filibuster with Rush, ‘Didn’t Have Very Good Shoes’ For It

Senator Rand Paul (R., Ky.) talked about his twelve-hour-long speech with Rush Limbaugh this afternoon. He had been contemplating a filibuster for a week he said, but only decided upon it when he walked into the Capitol that morning. Thus, Senator Paul found that regretted his choice in footwear: “Unfortunately, I didn’t have very good shoes for [the filibuster]. My feet were hurting me the whole time.” He explained that he seized the opportunity of a momentary lapse in floor control by the Democrats.
