Regarding Larry’s comment that “multiple gaffes can be deadly” – bear in mind, we elected and re-elected Jim Bunning, one of the most gaffe-prone and genuinely mean-spirited politicians of my lifetime. Paul’s gaffes would have to be pretty frequent and pretty bad to overshadow Jim’s (and I voted for Bunning more than once).
