Rep. Charles Rangel (D., N.Y.) has walked out on the first day of his own ethics trial, complaining that he hasn’t had the time or money to replace the team of lawyers that recently parted ways with him over worries that he couldn’t pay his $2 million-and-counting in legal fees. Rangel said he would be unwise to represent himself, and asked the adjudicatory to postpone his trial.
