Re: Blurbs

From a reader:

et tu Kemp er Goldberg?

Jonah, Would you really blurb a slanderous attack on Hannity because it makes you look good? That sounds like the way Kemp dealt with Gore’s back handed complement in their debate. (Or even Bush distinguishing his conservatism by saying he was compassionate.)

Me: Fair question and the answer is no. I’m scheduled to be on Hannity’s radio and TV shows to discuss the book and I’m glad for it. I wouldn’t include the backhanded swipe at Sean on my book (though I have no problem with swipes at Michael Savage). Still, I might take “what distinguishes Goldberg …. is a witty intelligence that deals in ideas as well as insults — no mean feat in the nasty world of the culture wars.” I might also take, “deliciously amusing.”

I’m going to hold off making substantive comments for later. But, again, critics and fans of my book alike can/will probably agree that the review is disappointingly dull and non-responsive. More — much more — later, I promise.
