Re: Canine Hymnology

Generally speaking, dogs don’t fare well in hymnology. A search for “dogs”

in the CyberHymnal turns up just two references:

“For many dogs do compass me, In council they do meet…” from Sternhold’s

and Hopkins’s “O God, my God, wherefore dost Thou

“Then Dives sent out his hungry dogs, To bite him [i.e. Lazarus] as he

lay…” from the traditional English hymn “Dives and Lazarus

I note, however, that a search for “cats” in the CyberHymnal turns up

nothing at all…
