I posted the following exercise yesterday from Marc Miyake’s blog (while

comprehensively mis-spelling his name–sorry, Marc):

The following are literal translations of the Chinese names of fast

food chains. Can you guess their English names?

a. ‘Chinese Fortress King’

b. ‘Agree Virtue Chicken’

c. ‘Warm Base of a Fruit’

Here are the solutions, which you can find in Chinese characters on Marc’s

a. Burger King (Han Bao Wang)

b. KFC (Ken De Ji)

c. Wendy’s (Wen Di)
