Re: Christmas Music

I too am always struck by “how fine these songs are.” Time and tradition commend the Christmas carols to us, of course, making them sentimental favorites. But stop and read the words, and what you’ll find is some very good poetry. One emendation of Rick’s post, however: Whereas the music in “Joy to the World” is that of Handel, the words are those of Isaac Watts.
