I have a complaint about Mark Steyn — which is shocking news, indeed. I should not make a light remark about his Irish post — his is a very serious subject. But he has a bad habit of putting songs in my head, as he did with his post’s heading. “Molly Malone” will be lodged there for quite some time now, and I am trying to work (between glances at the Corner and other Netty things). When will “Molly Malone” leave me? Not until another song knocks it out, probably. Maybe Mark will mention something else that displaces it. In the meantime . . . “alive, alive, o!”
