Another very common theme: “Let’s face it, unless you are a science or
engineering major where access to labs, higher math and developing the
intellectual discipline required in those fields in necessary, college is a
big, fat waste of time and money.”
Since a Bachelor’s degree is required for pretty much everything nowadays,
though, couldn’t the colleges just **sell** them, and at least save four
years of our kids lives?
(Oxford and Cambridge used to do just that with Master’s degrees. If you
had a Bachelor’s, for a fee of, I think, a hundred pounds, they’d convert it
to a Master’s. I bet they don’t do this any more — not for a hundred quid,
anyway.)
