I certainly agree with the principle that the illegitimate exercise of judicial authority to impose elite social opinion should be avidly resisted. While my post was stimulated by a court opinion, I purposely avoided taking a stance on that specific ruling, because I am not (to put it kindly) an expert on California law. I was trying to present an alternative long-term political strategy vis-a-vis gay marriage.
