There was some comment here and in Bench Memos when Kmiec wrote about the incident earlier this spring. The whole thing is odd — Doug making the case for Obama, the Communion-denial story…. Priests need to be teaching what the church teaches, what voters’ responsibilities are. And the example of Sebelius in Kansas is right, I believe. But the Doug story is unfortunate — I’d be upset if I were Mass with Doug and he was denied Communion for columns he’s written about Obama, as much as I disagree and don’t understand them.
