I’m really surprised you have thus far escaped reading Lord of the Rings. I readTolkein’s trilogy probably four times before adulthood. The books made me want to be a Cold War warrior and warrior in general more than the entire pantheon of conservative literature, which composed pretty much the rest of my reading. Maybe I read too much into it……
