My first thought on the major day-with-the-Drehers opus in the Post today: is this the first time the Post has devoted such flattering attention to a former Washington Times writer? Wow. It’s nice to think that liberal Post devotees can occasionally be exposed to religious, conservative people who aren’t cartoons of evil. (And Rod worked the word “Magisterium” into the Post. Cool.) I have to credit Hank Stuever for going so far out of his comfort zone to allow the Jonah mockery — but it does make Jonah’s point that the crunchy-con “confabulation” is attractive reporter bait.
It’s also the first time I’ve ever seen the verbal combination “God, family, and Elvis Costello.”
