Re: Friday Question

I recently received the galleys to Fellow Travelers, the new novel by Thomas Mallon. It comes out officially next month, and it’s now high on my short list of novels to read. I enjoy just about everything that Mallon writes, both fiction and nonfiction. He’s perhaps best known for Henry and Clara–about the other couple in the Ford’s Theater presidential booth–though my favorite novel of his is probably Dewey Defeats Truman (set in Owosso, Mich.!), which is the outgrowth of a wonderful essay he wrote for the American Spectator in 1991.

John J. Miller, a former national correspondent for National Review, is the director of the Dow Journalism Program at Hillsdale College. He is the author of A Gift of Freedom: How the John M. Olin Foundation Changed America.
