While the “tunic style” does indeed look like a short chiton, the “toga style” looks more like a himation to me.

Interestingly, the very impracticality of having to hold a towel-like garment around you and not having your arms free was actually one of the reasons why the long himation became a status symbol. It showed that you didn’t have to have your arms free for manual work.
