The committee is absolutely hammering Daniel Sparks — former head of the Goldman mortgage unit, and one slippery individual who appears thoroughly unamused with the proceedings.
Just now, Senator Levin was quoting from internal Goldman e-mails about pumping the sales of a particular mortgage-backed CDO called “Timberwolf” — which the e-mails refer to as a “sh***y deal.”
In the line of questioning that followed, Levin must have said “sh***y” two dozen times.
This is an absolute circus show.
