Re: Good for U.S. Airways

I just got an e-mail that makes the following point: If Muslims are believed to be boycotting U.S. Airways, bookings at the airline might actually increase as a result. This could send a powerful signal that transport-sector corporate policies which trigger Muslim boycotts tend to improve corporate earnings, which would create powerful incentives to trigger such boycotts, which would be a roundabout way of assuaging the security concerns of many Americans. That might not be good for American-Islamic relations, but then again, neither is the fear of Islamist terrorism, or for that matter, the preposterously irrational security procedures we now have in place.
