For what it’s worth, I’m with a major brokerage firm. I just spoke with our in-house economist, and the total contribution of federal spending to the 3.8% GDP growth was just .61%, which, he states, is pretty much average.

This GDP number was substantive, not artificially puffed up from government outlays.
