Re: Green Re-Run

Stephen — Since you bring it up, about a year ago I was trying to figure out how to cash-in on the government’s upcoming obsession with green technology etc. I discussed it with a friend who happens to write on related issues. He suggested FMC, which sells lithium. You see, there are scads of companies working on new batteries and it’s very hard to figure out which one will win the best-battery lottery. Meanwhile, pretty much all of them will need lithium and FMC is a major player on that front. The theory is, once they figure out how to make car batteries the go-to option, there will be a huge run on lithium. So I bought some shares (that counts as full disclosure. Fuller disclosure: I sincerely hope this post sends FMC into the Berkshire Hathaway stratosphere!). I didn’t buy as many as I wanted but about as many as I could afford on what amounted to an informed hunch. Anyway, just thought I’d share. And remember: Super-successful financial-wizard readers are always encouraged to pass on their sure-thing stock tips to me.
