re: The He-Might-as-Well-Have-Been-a-Democrat Mood

I, by the way, don’t think that mood (it is pointed out I have referred to it twice now) gets it quite right — but I understand it. I should have made that clear last night and did not. It’s what I’m hearing from people.

Voting against Obamacare, for one big thing, is not nothing. So many of us supported Scott Brown for Senate not being all that clear on where he would be on some issues. But we knew some important things about him. And they were enough to be enthused.

I know no one who was enthused about Mike Castle. I don’t think I know anyone who was “for” Mike Castle. But, like I’ve said, I do think there were a lot of votes against Mike Castle last night — because people are just not in a moderate mood, even in the northeast.

Should Mike Castle endorse the Republican nominee? That’s his choice. He has freedom. And I suspect Christine O’Donnell’s win has rallied plenty of support to her campaign now. Even despite the credibility cloud and Karl Rove not jumping on board.
