Why don’t we try it this way — individuals have a right to pursue heath coverage, just as they have a right to pursue happiness (or, perhaps the pursuit of health care is intertwined with the pursuit of happiness). The responsibility is the individual’s. As an aside, a response to Obama and the “right to health care” proposition might be: if an individual has a right to health care, then that right is infinitely violated in those country’s with national health care. The examples of citizens seeking care in places like Britain and Canada and not receiving it properly or in a timely fashion – or even at all — are too numerous to track. The Left’s game is to promise medical treatment when, in fact, they are offering government insurance.
