Terrible.

Militant Islamists, obviously, but not clear which groups were involved or whether any have ties to the ISI, Pakistani intelligence, which is still riddled with radicals and sympathizers.

This comes at a time when Indian-Pakistani relations seemed to be approving – maybe that was the point of this exercise.

Terrorists like these would be thrilled to pull off a similar attack in the U.S. Aggressive surveillance and other tough policies will be necessary to prevent them.

Let’s hope the incoming administration fully appreciates that.
