Isaac Chotiner builds yet another silly straw man argument from a Corner post. In background: Jason Zengerle objected to the statement that the media treated the hostage-taking in Iraq with the same degree of outrage as it did Abu Ghraib. Evidence suggests otherwise. But putting this aside, Isaac and Jason, do you really think it proper to treat human rights violations in such sharply different ways depending upon the perpetrator? This is a fair question. Perhaps it’s time to answer it and stop treating Iraqis as a template upon which to play out U.S.-based animosities.
