I’d take a 10-1 tax increase vs. spending cut deal too, if I were sure the terms would hold up. But I’m not sure what the point of entertaining these hypothetical deals is before one’s on offer. I don’t see Obama and company being asked under what circumstances they would accept premium support for Medicare and price indexing for Social Security.
