Re: Late to the Ethanol Party

I, too, am late to the whole ethanol-subsidies drama, and I mainly agree with Jonah. Now, leaving aside the debate of whether eliminating ethanol subsidies represents a tax hike or not, I am wondering if the whole thing isn’t likely to backfire in Grover Norquist’s face. Is it possible that, given the nasty fight over ethanol and the language used against Senator Coburn, even conservative candidates running for office will end up being wary of signing Grover’s pledge, even if they support it in principle?

Update:  Tim Carney had a good piece over at the Examiner yesterday about the fight.
