Re: The Madhi Army

Readers who are interested in learning more background on Poppa Goldberg’s reference to the Madhi’s army in the Sudan in the late 19th century be interested in a piece I published right after 9/11, drawing the parallels found in Churchill’s great book about that episode, The River War. (The River War is my favorite Churchill book, though the original edition, which he suppressed for political reasons, is very hard to come by.)
