The Corner

re: Memorial Day

Just to pile on a little — besides being a delightful fella and invaluable historian of many things Right, Lee Edwards was my professor for a semester at Catholic University — so I salute someone who I’ve long admired in congratulating him and thanking him for his work on this memorial. Considering people don’t quite get we’re in our fourth world war now, the likelihood kids will appreciate what the Cold War was probably passed as the last ones who grew up hearing about the real threat of the “Evil Empire” entered adulthood. That memorial on the Hill is no small thing, for many reasons.

For just a little more, and also for those who missed our package yesterday:

Here’s some Peter Robinson on the famous Reagan Berlin wall speech — its anniversary was yesterday.

And here are links to what we had up yesterday:

   • Symposium: Our Hero (re: WFB’s contribution to the end of Communism)

    • Flashback (WFB): What Did You Know? When?

    • Interview: The Long Marsh

    • Flashback (Burnham): Unfinished Business

    • Flashback (Coyne): The Word Is Freedom

    • Flashback (Edwards): In Memory

    • Kengor: “That Wall”

UPDATE: And last but not least, John J. Miller from NRODT on the memorial.
