Surrendering a state a month out makes me furious. I realize priorities and all but I think the Heritage Foundation or someone should set up a Rescue Recovery Project that will keep and eye on and work with the Hill and White House post-bailout. The Project will work vigorously to prevent further government intrusion in the markets and big-government policy. They should ask Mitt Romney to be chairman and McCain — who I believe has never actually spoken at the Heritage Foundation in all his years in Washington — should announce America’s need for good policy in the wake of this mess and his intention to call upon Romney and the Project as a key part of his administration’s economic policymaking. McCain can make him his de facto economic czar without having to create a new government office. And then the McCain campaign can stop calling Romney to do MSNBC — where I see him too often than I care to admit — and have that teamplayer work this state he won in the primaries, along with Sarah Palin, when she can be spared from her many talk-radio and Fox News appearances and campaigning in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin …
