Jonah, fwiw, I’m very reliably informed that Minnesota U.S. Attorney Rachel Paulose — at whom Krugman directed a swipe, which followed hard on a hit-job the Times did on April 7 (now behind the Times-Select wall) — has been very unfairly maligned. She was unanimously confirmed by the senate with support from both Minnesota senators (including a Democrat), and this should come as no surprise since she is superbly well-qualified and well though of by people across the ideological divide.
