That’s sure not the impression a lot of kids get today.
By “tough situation” I look only to his words to Woodruff — he didn’t deal with the attention and the pressure well. That’s not to let him cast himself a victim, but it’s worth reflecting on. If I’m a kid today, I probably think Americans value celebrity more than traditional marriage.
While we’re casting stones at John Edwards, it’s not a bad exercise to look in a cultural window. That’s all. I think that’s less about charity to Edwards than concern for us all.
