Re: Nancy and the Jets

I’m getting a number of e-mails along these lines:

How in the world can refueling an unscheduled flight on a military aircraft at Whiteman AFB, Missouri or at the Strategic Air Command base in Omaha be a security threat for Pelosi?  Whiteman is where the B-2 Stealth Bombers are based.  The Strategic Air Command is, well, the Strategic Air Command.  I have to believe these bases are secure for the Speaker to land for an unscheduled, unannounced, quiet refueling.

Bottom line: I am not buying the “security threat” excuse.

That’s a reasonable point.  But my question remains.  Does a Gulfstream G550, or another comparable plane, need to refuel on a flight from Washington to San Francisco?
