Yes, Lisa, I don’t think you can buy into that pernicious stuff without being negative about American culture. My only point is that I think Peggy’s position and approach – and yes, maybe including her Bush criticisms — may speak beyond a conservative audience in a unique way. And that may be a good thing.
That said, again, he’s radical and would be bad news as the president.
But if we can make that argument and bring people inclined to support him to thinking differently about him, this would be a good thing. And I think Peggy may be able to pull that off. Others do, too, but probably not that many…
