Mario – Both barrels? I’m sorry, but I think that’s politically ill-advised, if by both barrels you mean making Kerry’s comments a central part of the national GOP effort in these remaining days. Kerry’s apology on a personal and intellectual level may be lame, but as a political matter it will look desperate now that he’s said he’s sorry and slunk away. GOP candidates in districts where bringing up Kerry’s comments will help them should by all means do so. And if the GOP can do a mailing to its base with a Kerry message that might help. But keeping it a national issue would backfire.
