Glad to see John Hood’s helpful list, and especially happy to see the Arizona Civil Rights Initiative on that list. Proposition 107 will ban discrimination and preferences on the basis of race, ethnicity, and sex in state and local contracting, employment, and education. That would include racial preferences in university admissions, municipal contracting, and firefighter hiring and promotion, to give just a few examples. This proposition is similar to other Ward Connerly–led initiatives that have already been passed in California, Washington, Michigan, and Nebraska.
