Re: Peter Singer

Dan – It’s richer than that.

I for one would like to think that liberals who honestly contend that any talk of death panels is beyond the pale, would rush to reject Peter Singer’s support. This is a guy who thinks it’s sometimes okay to kill babies (not fetuses but actual babies) if they aren’t “normal” enough. How do I know this? Well for starters, he wrote an essay titled “Killing Babies Isn’t Always Wrong” in which he made that case. He is also just as “bold” about taking the life of old people who can’t chew the leather anymore.

I don’t know if Singer would endorse death panels per se, since he mostly writes about the ethical obligations of family members to weed-out the unfit in their clan, but a society that took his ethical exhortations seriously would almost surely have them.

He says the NRA has blood on its hands, when the NRA has never endorsed murder. Meanwhile, it’s far more  likely that there’s some parent out there who took his advice to kill their child or some child out there who took his advice to kill their aged parent.
