Romney’s ads have been fairly consistently cheesy and feeding into the image there’s no core there. If I were on Team Romney, I’d run a cheese-less commercial with an excerpt or two from his patriotic Thursday speech — where he comes off as a leader who loves his country and loves his faith and family. I’d run a bit of him from the last YouTube debate, where he dropped the canned soundbites and came off as a guy who knew what was going on and had some command over many of the key issues facing our nation. And yes, I’d stop using an uncompelling campaign talking point on life when connect is what he needs to do. There’s a core there. It’s no time to hide it under a plate of cheese.
