Re Re: Immigration Question

Andy, you and dozens of e-mailers have answered my question, which is to say, at this moment, no bill on immigration could be satisfactory. The “bad bill vs. no bill” game has been played very effectively in recent years — for example, in killing Hillarycare. The question now is entirely political. Will the grass roots revolt frighten a sufficient number of senators to create a 41-seat block to Senate passage? And will the thrill of handing President Bush a legislative defeat give Nancy Pelosi a reason to do what she can to block its passage in the House?
