Here’s my take today. The gist: Of course it’s not appeasement simply to talk to someone. But talk in itself, unless it’s coupled with a coherent strategy, doesn’t get you anywhere. Unless Obama has some plan to develop leverage over Iran that we don’t know about, his negotiations would probably end in frustration or something worse.
