I objected the night of the sit-down Fox debate where it first famously came up. It rings as offensive as every criticism of/ hostility toward Romney for using his own money for his campaign. As John McCain might put it, My friends, this is a wonderful nation where you’re free to be as successful in the business world as Mitt Romney is. He has all this money and he believes he has a unique opportunity to serve — how many Americans are in the actual position where it just makes sense and they have the qualifications and resources to run for president — and so he’s using his money to try to make it happen. Hey, this is his living of the American dream. God bless, right?
