Dan, this Romney endorsement was a long time coming. Rubio endorsed Mike Huckabee in 2008 and Team Romney didn’t forget. Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom told the Boston Globe months ago that “generally speaking, we shy away from primaries unless there’s a compelling reason to get involved . . . One of the criteria we use to determine if we should get involved in the primary is whether a particular candidate has been helpful to Mitt — because we’re loyal and return favors.”
This is no returned favor, so we’ll just have to wait to find out about Mitt’s “compelling reason.” Something tells me that you’ll win that back wax.
