re: Rush

Jay: One of the ironies of the Newsweek story is that Rush is in part a creature of Newsweek’s own failures. Conservative talk radio is popular for many reasons, but a key factor in its growth, starting in the late 1980s and early 1990s, involves conservatives who were fed up with liberal bias in the mainstream media and turned to alternative sources of information. This was before Al Gore invented the interwebs, so the number of platforms was limited. Talk radio provided one of them. Rush filled the vacuum that Newsweek and the MSM, in their genteel anti-conservatism, created in the first place. Their anti-conservatism is considerably less genteel today.

I hope that Rush has his best ratings week ever.
