Jonah:  OK, let’s take the that Sam Brownback quote in its entirety.  A fair translation would be:   —”Evolution” might mean micro-evolution, in which case I’m fine with it.   —Or it might mean that “an exclusively materialistic, deterministic vision of the world that holds no place for a guiding intelligence” is in fact a correct vision, in which case I reject it.   OK; but what if it doesn’t mean either of those things?  What if it merely means a scientific theory to explain the origin of species–which, after all, calls for some kind of explanation?  Is Sam OK with it in that case?  We should be told.
