Pawlenty, of course, was contrasting himself with son-of-a-CEO-turned-governor Mitt Romney. But that Santorum is weighing in so forcefully here illustrates that a) he’s intent on being at least a factor in the early ‘12 conversation and, perhaps more important, b) TPaw’s son-of-a-truck driver pitch may not be received with the same welcome in the GOP as the son-of-a-milk-truck-driver and the son-of-a-mill worker were with Dems.
It also feels like something of a proxy war or perhaps an updated version of the Mitt v Huck battles of ‘08.
