I saw that episode when it aired. I thought the treatment of abortion was more irreverent than that of most network shows, but in other respects conformed to type. There was the standard affirmation of choice, and then the standard choice for life. TV shows rarely depict any of their main characters’ having the most common surgical procedure in America. (I talk about it a little in my book.)
