At Notre Dame, the administration may be weak, but there are tremendous things happening. I often remind people, lately, that one of the first — if not the first — people I heard from in protest of the president’s faux accommodation on the HHS Mandate so many Fridays ago now, was Carter Snead of Notre Dame. 

Deneen leaving is a real indictment of Georgetown. He has done some important foundational work there. That he feels he has to walk away is a real vote of confidence in Our Lady’s place in South Bend.
